Darn the Independent Practice!

I had my first and last final for the semester today. HALLELUJAH! The semester is finally over! I can't count for you how many times I've wanted to quit. Of course in hindsight it wasn't all that bad. Looking back I always forget how difficult the journey was...this is probably why women (LDS women) have more than one child! ...that's a WHOLE 'nother can of worms though.
Back to the reason for the posting, during my final I had to make up a lesson plan according to a children's book that was in a pile on the table. I chose Mooncake by Frank Asch. It's such an adorable book! The lesson plan had to be for a math lesson. It was kind of a stretch but I turned it into a lesson on measurement. ('Cause part of the book is when the bear tries to go to the moon through an obviously illogical way- with string!) The dumb thing I realized as I was walking out the door from the test (too little, too late) was a key component at the end of any lesson..."Independent Practice" a.k.a. HOMEWORK. At this point I'm kicking myself with my own two feet as I'm walking to my car.

First of all it's stupid because I have written about 25-30 lesson plans this whole semester. You would think I would have remembered that part? ...apparently not! The second reason I was peeved at myself was of course the lack of points because I failed to write that portion in my lesson. Welp, as most people say, "Spilt milk" now! And YES, "spilt" is spelled correctly. It looks funny doesn't it? There is actually a children's book also called It Looked like Spilt Milk so I know it's correct.By now, most college students are out drinking away the semester or partying it up...not me! I'm watching The Wedding Planner and checking out photography blogs! Woo-hoo! I live on the wild side! ...better yet, the overly conservative side. haha

P.S.- A little bit of proof my pets rule the house...That IS an Easter basket! ...and she is a full grown cat.

My first semester I took a final and got home and realized I had forgotten to answer one of the essays I was planning on going back to. Whoops. I think you will still be okay though!
