Learn Something New

Did you know Duct Tape used to be called DUCK tape? Yep, it's true.

Did you know it was invented during WW II?

Top Ten Uses for DucT Tape: According to discovery.com

10. Help teach the meaning of "irony" - It was often used to seal ducts. But, duct tape is actually an extremely unsafe subtance to use for such a project and has actually been banned from such in California.

9. Create a strapless bra! (I personally haven't done it yet but I really wanna try it now!)

8. Hair removal - it's probably not the least painful use but it is certainly effective

7. Bring out your artistic side (Need I say more?)

6. Prevent shattering glass during storms

5. Play MacGyver (I dunno. My mom said he was famous for using house hold items)

4. Get rid of warts (You really only have to keep the tape on the wart for six to seven days at a time. Afterward, you soak the wart in warm water, rinse and air-dry overnight while the air works its magic.)

3. created primarily to keep soldiers' ammunition cases sealed—but as the men

used it more often, they realized it did so much more! It sealed containers that

were otherwise left open for major spillage factor, all while repelling the nasty

elements, and it worked to quickly fix everything from firearms to airplanes

(sounds safe, huh?)

2. Create the best prom outfit (Nope, not kidding) - Every year, Duck® Products

sponsors their super-popular "Stuck at Prom" contest, where couples compete to

create prom gear made almost entirely of duct tape

1. To Save Your Life in Space - it wasn't until 1970 when the Apollo 13

mission solidified the necessity of duct tape on every mission thereafter.

When the flight crew got into a bit of a pickle (and we use the term "a bit of

a pickle" loosely here, since their lives were essentially at stake), it was duct

tape, in conjunction with a whole slew of other items, that saved their lives.

There. Now you're a little bit more edu-ma-cated. :)

I know a girl who did #9 for a beauty pageant (this is common, i guess) and trust me, you do NOT want to do this.
