Ward Date Night with a Twist! **Part 1**

I'm writing this at almost 2 am cuz I'm just still so wired from the events this evening!

So, I hesitantly got ready for this evening as I knew being set up on 3 dates by the ward activity committee would be somewhat awkward.

When me & my roommate got to the church we put our name in 3 baskets (one for each date). I looked around to see if there was anyone I hoped to have as my date. Saw one or two potentials. Fat chance though...with my luck. I hoped anyway though. The first date was for dinner. It was a guy from my ward I had met before & thought was cute. I didn't get any future vibes from him though. And I was okay with that.

Next date was for the activity portion of the night. They set up a little carnival on the other half of the cultural hall. My next date had braces but was otherwise easy on the eyes. He wasn't from my ward & so this was a fresh slate. A new guy to meet. We actually had a really good time. He asked for my number at the end of the activity "date". I was glad to give it to him.

Third date was a unique guy from my ward. (I say this because a few weeks ago he sent a Facebook message to my roommate & said, and I quote, "What is your favorite color?" Now mind you, he doesn't know my roommate that well at all. Strange. Anyway. I tried talking to him & it was not easy conversing...he never asked me anything. So, I just kept asking him tons of questions. Then the "date" flew by.

A prayer was said & we cleaned up. Of course LDS singles like to linger in the hall for one last chance to socialize. I stood in the hallway where my roommate came across a guy she knew who was with a friend. She introduced me to them. Both were cute guys. The one Rosanna (my roommate) knew said I looked familiar. I couldn't say the same. He didn't look familiar at all. So I just shrugged. The other guy said jokingly, "Sports Illustrated?" I said, "Ya, actually! December!" He said, "oh. I was going to guess March."

So, we talked it up a whole ton in the hallway. Then he said, "Well, what are you guys doing after this?" I said, "I'm not sure." Long conversations short, we decided on going to a party.

Well, skip some events...the party was full of young kids (at least that's how everyone looks at parties now.). The one guy I was chatting with forever at the church said, "Hey. You wanna get out of here?" I said, "Ya!" So he said, "OK. First we gotta take you to your house and you need to change into shorts and a t-shirt. We are gunna go to the park and hit golf balls..."
